In any manufacturing activity such as making soap organic soap, you first need to know before you start making soap is what supplies or ingredients you need to have on hand. The supplies you will need to prepare depends on the type of soap will do. For manufacturing organic soap, you have to prepare the following materials:
- Soap Base. A soap based manufacturing makes quick and easy soap. It is very comfortable and is usually used in the melt and pour soap making process. As oil soap, a soap base contains essential oils, fragrance oil and coloring. Soap bases come in different varieties, such as glycerin, castile, goat's milk, shea butter, lard cocoa and specialty databases such as olive oil, honey and oatmeal. Soap bases also come in two forms: bars of soap base and grated soap base.
- Lyc. Lye is also known as caustic soda. It is used in soap making cold process in which water is added and lard or fat to it. Bleach comes in the form of dry solid, such as flakes, granules, powders, beads and in solution and dissolved in water. Bleach is a chemical corrosive and can cause burns and skin lesions and blindness if it reaches his eyes.
- Carrier Oil. Carrier oil is also known as vegetable oil or base oil. It is used to dilute essential oils and these oils help to get under the skin. Most carrier oils come from vegetables is pressed, fruit seeds, nuts, like olive oil, grapeseed oil, sunflower seeds, avocado, canola (rapeseed), sesame, jojoba, sweet almond, walnut, and macadamia nut.
- Essential oils or fragrances. Essential oils are also known as volatile or ethereal oils. Extracted from plants and are extracted by their flavor or fragrance. They are used in combination with carrier oils to add fragrance to their organic soaps. Essential oils are extracted from various plant parts:
· Seed – almonds, anise, cumin, nutmeg
· Flowers – lavender, rose, ylang-ylang, sage, chamomile, geranium
· The leaves – basil, cinnamon, eucalyptus, lemon grass, mint
· Peel – orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit
· Wood – cedar, sandalwood, camphor
- Natural Ingredients. The natural ingredients are extracts or ingredients added to a mixture of soap base to give the soap a unique and distinctive. There are several varieties of natural ingredients that can be used in soaps for different purposes as:
- Scrubs – oatmeal, poppy seeds, sugar, salt, corn flour
- Cleaning – grapefruit seed extract, milk
- Relaxing – honey, lavender, rosemary
- Moisturizer – shea butter, wheat germ, aloe vera, cocoa butter
- Moulds. Moulds are the containers in which the mixture is poured into the soap and allowed to harden and take shape. soap molds come in a variety of shapes, sizes and materials. There are also novelty soaps for special occasions and molds that can be tailored to specific needs.
- Dyes. Dyes are used to give color to your soap. Food coloring can be used as dye. And mica pigments come in different colors. There are also earth tones and bright lenses metal can be added intensity to your soap and make visually appealing.
- Equipment. Equipment such as pots and pans stainless steel double boiler pans, bowls, mill or blender, and a stove or microwave are some of the equipment you will need to make organic soap.
- The tools and safety equipment. You will also need goggles and rubber gloves to safely handle hazardous substances such as bleach. A balance to measure the ingredients, spoons, plastic or stainless steel thermometer in the mixture, launcher, aprons and potholders.
Supplies before listed are also basic requirements for the development of natural soaps, herbs and other types of soap.
